MAC To the Beach Haul!

Hey Guys! So with much anticipation, I ordered from the MAC
To the Beach Collection the day it came out!!
(haha i know the beach collection is already old news!)

I had been looking forward to this collection for a very long time, and was on the MAC site within hours of the collection being posted! Everything was still in stock and i hestitated for hours to figure out what i wanted. Ugh, i wish i hadn't. I'd add items, then get rid of them then decide what else i wanted... blah blah. Well, after i decided what i wanted the Sand and Sun eyeshadow SOLD OUT as well as the highly popular High-Light Powder in Marine Life. Oh well, I was still able to grab some cute things before a few sold out. So here is what i ordered:

                                                                     my MAC order!!

First up is the Powder Blush in Get-Away Bronze. I was a bit hesitant at first to order this only because I had heard from many different bloggers that it may be too dark of a blush for light to medium skin tones. My skin tone is more on the warmer medium side, so i went for it! Not sure why some bloggers thought it was too dark; i think its very pretty! In fact, i felt i needed to keep applying it to get it to show up on my skin!

Second, I bought two eyeshadows: Firecracker and Sweet & Punchy! They both are beautifully pigmented and such great colors! I tend to stick with more nude eyeshadows so i'll have to poke around and see what everyone has been doing with these e/s!

I also got a lipglass & a lipstick! They are both soooo pretty. I got the lipglass in Splashing, which i absolutely ADORE! & the lipstick in Lazy Day, which is a pretty pinky pale lustre:

haha looks weird here, its actually the sparkles that are reflecting the light... its really a stunning color!!!
Finally, I got the lustre drops in Sun Rush. I was surprised at myself for buying this, but i had seen so many reviews and it seemed really pretty. And in fact, it IS very pretty its just a weird consistency, not sure how i feel about it yet!

So that's my MAC haul! I also recieved a free Zoom Lash sample.. great to pop in the purse for a quick swipe here and there! It's actually a very nice mascara.. and i just don't ever buy mascara that isn't waterproof. I can't get my lashes to curl if it isn't!

Essie Resort Collection NOTDs

Essie's The Resort Collection was made entirely to capture the beautiful colors of some of the world's most beautiful exotic locations.

I wanted them all, but i only settled on two of the four mouth-watering colors!

So I picked up not only Splash of Grenadine but also Turquoise and Caicos from the Essie Resort Collection! Both colors are pretty, although I think the Splash of Grenadine wasn't the most flattering on my skintone. I did, however, get a lot of compliments on both!!
I wore Splash of Grenadine just for fun at work and this is how it looked:

Essie's Splash of Grenadine
I work at a high school, so i decided to chaperone the Senior Prom. Turquoise and Caicos matched my dress PERFECTLY! I did not even plan it whatsoever! I forgot to take a picture of it with the bottle, sorry :(
Essie Turquoise & Caicos, Dress: H&M, Drink: Coca-Cola lol

Check out the collection HERE. Playa del Platinum appeared to be nothing special or out of the ordinary. In fact, it didn't even seem fit for the collection. Kinda boring! I wanted to also buy Lapis of Luxury but i figured i shouldn't spend $24 all at once on nail polish.

OPI Designer Series NOTD

I can thank one of my good friends, Mia, for my sudden interest in being adament about painting my nails!! Not only have a strayed from my usual nude colors, but I have actually colored my nails bright blue (pics to come soon)!!
Well..... I came across the OPI Designer Series & I was in love!! The nail polish actually has real diamond dust in it! In fact, the DS brushes themselves are better than the classic OPI nail color brushes. They deposit the richly pigmented DS colors evenly with a nice flat brush.
This site is great to check out all the gorgeous colors in the collection!
At my local Ulta, there weren't many DS colors to choose from, so I decided on purchasing the DS in Classic. It is a stunning golden beige color that really flatters my skintone! The golden pigments are gorgeous when the color hits the light. STUNNING!

OPI DS in Classic
I will definately be purchasing more from the DS series. Although at $12.50 a pop, they are rather steep in price.

A Small Sephora Haul!

I went to Sephora with a list of beauty items i wanted, and left with nothing on the list. Funny how that works, huh?? Well, here is what i got and below the pics will be my own personal review of each item, so far.

Benefit's Stay Don't Stray

Bare Minerals Hydrating Mineral Veil

Anastasia Highlighting Brow Kit

Benefit's Stay Don't Stray: Thought I'd tell ya a funny story first, haha. When i went up to the register to buy this item, the man, who was quite lovely, looked at the box and said to me "this stuff is amazing, i used it this morning!" HAHA. Um... okay then dude! Anyways, I have only used the item twice already before i go to work and honestly, i don't think it worked that well. Normally i get these creases under my eyes from my concealer, so in using this stuff, i was hoping i'd find a new magical primer to prevent that. Well, it wasn't the case :( Still creasing, and my eyeshadow still needed to be reapplied at the end of the day. I'd stay with my Urban Decay Eyelid Primer for the eyelids... still in search of a primer for my undereyes! =( All in all, I'd give this item a 5/10

Bare Minerals I.D. Hydrating Mineral Veil: The first time i used this stuff, i was a little overwhelmed; i thought the "sparkles" in it were too overwhelming, then i realized that it actually isn't at all. The "sparkles" are the tiny fine minerals that are brightening up my face and hydrating my skin. I use it over my foundation and under my eyes to set my makeup. Been using this for probably a week and a half now, and i really do like it. I'd definately recommend it =) I'd give it a 8.5/10

Anastasia Highlighting Brow Kit: I'm one of those overpluckers who looks in the mirror and gets obsessed with plucking every little hair. I love plucking. Weird huh? Well, this stuff rocks!! My eyebrows are way too thin and somewhat dark... so i use the dark brown (on the right), mixed with the center brown and swipe it on my brows. I also bought Anastasia's pink brush to use with it... works great!! The highlighter is beautiful =) I use it on my arches. The only problem i have is that i only use the champagne colored highlighter... the other two seem to be too dark to brighten up my arches. But this stuff is gonna last forever... i can tell!! I'd give it a 8.5/10

Have any of you tried any of these products??
